Q 1-  Why does the boat move backward when you jump forward?

Answer – When we jump in forward direction, we apply a force on the boat to move ahead and according to newton’s third law of motion, every action do equal and opposite reaction and therefore, the boat moves backward.

Q 2-   Why does a gun recoil when a bullet is fired?

Answer – When a bullet is fired, gun apply force in forward direction with a great velocity. According to Newton’s third law of motion, the bullet also applies an equal force in the opposite direction i.e. in backward direction.
