 Q. Why does the boat moves backward when you jump forward?

Newton  third  law of motion states that for every action there is equal and opposite reaction .In this case when the man jumps out of the boat ,it exert force on boat this is the action ,as reaction  the boat exerts equal force on the man thus ,the boat moves backward and we are able to move forward.

 Q. Why do the gun recoil when bullet fires?

When the bullet is fired it moves suddenly ahead with a great velocity by a force which is applied by the gun in the forward direction. According to Newton’s third law of motion the bullet also applies an equal force in the opposite direction.
